Get back the power and torque your belt-driven accessories steal. Bolt on 8-10 horses with Steeda’s underdrive pulleys. These pulleys slow down your accessories about 25%, reducing the drag on your engine. They can even bump up gas mileage. These pulleys are manufactured from billet steel, exceeding factory quality. The crankshaft pulley uses a high-tech injection molded bonded rubber damper, making it far more durable than any other underdrive pulley on the market.
Midway through the production run for the 2001 model year Ford changed the design of the water pump on the 4.6L engine. The older style pump produced from 1996 to mid 2001 had a longer shaft. In January of 2001 the design of the pump was changed to a shorter shaft. This necessitated a change in the design of the pump pulley.
- When installing these pullies you HAVE TO replace the harmonic balancer bolt. You can get a new torque-to-yield bolt from Ford or upgrade to the ARP harmonic balancer bolt as seen in the suggestions below.
- If you have a PI with a one way pulley on the alternator or have a large stereo we suggest not running the alternator pulley supplied in this kit. If you put just the water pump and crankshaft pulley on the vehicle you will need one size shorter than stock belt. The Gates belt # is a 900K6 / K060900 or a Goodyear Gatorback belt # is a 4060900. Some have reported their model needing a K060908 and another customer with a 2007 CVPI ran a K060919. May be a year difference or different idler pullies used through the years.
